My sister Erin arrived late Thursday night from France, where she has been studying abroad the past two months in Lyon. We had the opportunity to explore town today, including the Arlington National Cemetery, the National Zoo, and the National Building Museum. Neither of us had ever been to the latter, and even though there weren't many exhibits, I was very impressed by the building itself --- felt like I was in Europe myself! The changing of the guard was impressive as always, and the Amazonia house and the golden tamarins running LOOSE at the zoo were particularly fun, as well as the giant pandas, the toucans, and the baby otters fighting with one another for a sunny rock to nap on!
