It's sixty degrees outside and pouring rain.
I couldn't be more content.
I LOVE rainy days and what's more --- I love being sent home early for the day from my surgery rotation so I can sit and listen to the rain. I am officially now halfway through this rotation, having wrapped up cardiothoracic today. I start Monday at the VA. The next three weeks will pass quickly --- I'll spend a couple of days at a local writing conference, two days in Washington for an AMSA board meeting, and two days in New Orleans for a portion of the National Rural Health Association conference. Therefore, the second half of surgery won't be quite as painful as the first half!
I'm even more content this afternoon knowing that I have a completely unscheduled weekend ahead of me --- quite a rarity. It'll be filled with studying, correspondence, and AMSA work, but at least I don't have to leave the house. I wouldn't mind if it rained all weekend ...
And yet one more reason to be content ... I swung by the grocery store on the way home and bought myself a 1/2 gallon of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and my very own WondeRoast chicken from Fareway. Yummmmm. I'm set to be a hermit for a couple of days ... clearly, I need a social life! It's the little things, you know?
The rain has slowed now, but it's still dreary outside ...
... I might just have to take a nap.

Well, I prefer Cherry Garcia, but WondeRoast chicken is definately a plus, and Fareway is a great store from which to get them.
