Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.

I'm Still Alive!

As I write this, I am resting my heels in California ... I flew out here yesterday morning for one of my AmeriCorps' friend's weddings. I'm visiting my friends and family in northern and southern CA this week and trying to study for Boards (that I take November 1) at the same time ... yikes! Life has been hectic since I returned from Scandinavia on October 3rd ... my two-week dermatology rotation, an AMSA board meeting in DC, a Minnesota Public Radio interview, and a presentation I gave at a rural health conference in Omaha. I fly home to Iowa at the end of this week via Wichita, where I will be photographing my friend Paige's wedding next Saturday in Hutchinson! The rest of the fall line-up entails my orthopedics rotation, a health policy elective in DC, and family medicine residency interviews in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Denver, Albuquerque, Ann Arbor, Madison, and Boston ... and perhaps a few others! I will update this blog of mine with several pictures from the rest of my travels in Sweden and Norway and other adventures after November 1st ... when my Boards are done!
