Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.

Data Wonk

I started my practicum at NACHC (the National Association of Community Health Centers) this past week. Completing a two-credit practicum, or internship, is part of my MPH program. I am very excited to be working here and will be analyzing a health professions training program survey and assembling policy recommendations for NACHC. This year, many of the federally-funded health professions training programs (such as National Health Service Corps, nurse practitioner, resident physician, and medical student rotations) are up for reauthorization in Congress. Many of these programs introduce students to community health centers and thus are great recruitment and retention initiatives. Since I would like to practice in a health center one day, this is a great fit. However, right now I am busy with the oh-so-glamorous job of entering data!
