Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.

Five feet from a Kennedy

As part of the new Democrats' 'First 100 Hours' agenda, the majority is looking to pass legislation that would lower interest rates on federal student loans in the middle of this coming week. I attended a press conference organized in part by AMSA and other student groups at the Capitol this past Thursday. Among other Congressmen and woman, Senator Edward Kennedy spoke. For being in his seventies, he is quite the passionate speaker. I was delighted to be sitting in the front row, as it provided me with a great vantage point for taking pictures. I must admit, however, that while I was trying to pay attention to his message, I was fixated on the right side of his face ... and was concerned that Kennedy may have (in my very inexperienced clinical assessment at this point!) a basal cell carcinoma or somesuch other dermatological condition. I hope he is seeking consult with a real physician!
