Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.

Road Tripping ...

My friend Toby and I struck out for Annapolis, Maryland's capital city, on Saturday. I had never been there before and was impressed with the small capitol building, the narrow, historic streets and shops, and the waterfront and docked sailboats. We spent most of the afternoon, however, touring the US Naval Academy (a gorgeous campus) and witnessing no fewer than six weddings take place at the chapel.

Feeling crabby in Annapolis!

This flag - and the reflection - caught my attention at the USNA.

We also swung by the Awakening, a very unique statue of a man seemingly rising out of the earth, at the very tip of East Potomac Park in DC ... purportedly, the rumor has it that some Virginia entrepreneur purchased this massive sculpture for a handsome sum and is relocating it across the river!
