(Welcome to the most labor-intensive pizza I have ever consumed ... didn't know that a "seafood" pizza would come complete with the shells and all! For anyone looking for a good restaurant in Dupont Circle, I highly recommend Sette Osteria --- but just don't get the Italian beer. Toby can provide more details of his poor review!)
My DC trip was sure an intense five days --- a Saturday night dinner with friends in Dupont Circle, brunch with friends in Georgetown, APHA meeting sessions, visits to ACPM, NACHC, and the Department of Health Policy at GW, an "activist physicians" dinner in Chinatown, an early-morning breakfast with a friend on the Hill, a 10-year anniversary celebration for the School of Public Health and Health Services (GW) at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, my presentation at APHA, randomly running in to people I know walking on the streets, and a very messy evening of cooking for my Brazilian friends. I love that city ... and the best part is that I'm heading back there in one week! It's time for the fall AMSA board meeting ...
Number 143 of the Lauren and Paige series. Paige is one of my close friends in AMSA --- a fellow Region 8 member, a fantastic organizer, and an outstanding future physician!
Dearest Ramona (with the closed eyes!) and Lara at dinner in Dupont --- love the health policy folks!
I am proud to introduce the two reasons I attended GW last year for my Master's degree ... Dr. Fitzhugh Mullan and Katie Iossi. Katie is a fellow medical student and friend at Iowa who earned her MPH at GW two years before me and shared with me her experiences when she returned ... and Dr. Mullan, a professor of Katie's, helped pave the way for allowing me to complete my degree in one year instead of two. Many, many thanks!
My cubicle friend Betsy from the Department of Health Policy --- another fine future doctor!
