Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.

Today Was A Very, Very Good Day

Today was a very good day, despite the snow and cold temps that plague us as we head in to spring, for three excellent reasons:

1) I didn't have to scrape my windows when I got out to my van this morning. Trust me, this does wonders.

2) I found out I was selected for a scholarship from the College of Medicine to go to Sweden next year for a rotation! I plan to add two weeks to that and go check out my Norwegian heritage.

3) Hillary won Rhode Island, Texas, and Ohio ... and I just shelled out my first campaign contribution! No matter where you stand politically, this has been a terribly exciting, exhausting election season, and we aren't even any where near the end. My belief is that I don't care WHO you vote for, just THAT you vote ... and people have been doing so in droves this year, breaking records in nearly every state. Folks are taking time from their lives and heading to school gyms, power plants, libraries, meeting halls, businesses, and other places to cast their ballots. Absolutely phenomenal. It very well may be, mathematically speaking, that she does not win the Democratic nomination with FL and MI holding primaries early against the DNC's wishes and losing their delegates and the bizarre sway of superdelegates. Nonetheless, the buzz and movement this year is real, and she is opening doors (of course, as well as Barack). I hope there are plenty of little girls out there that now think nothing of it for a woman to potentially be president and desire to do so themselves ... that, at the end of the day and at the end of this race, is exceedingly important to all of us --- whether or not she is ultimately successful. But, for now ... that a girl, Hillary, that a girl!
