Today marked graduation - part one! The School of Public Health and Health Services awarded their degrees today in a very hot auditorium ... it took me a while to get the Master's hood and crazy tails on my gown straight, but I eventually got squared away! One of my classmates sang the national anthem; one of my professors dressed up in a George Washington WIG, and a NPR health policy analyst was the keynote speaker. Special thanks to my friend Ramona who was my photographer and my cheering section, to my mentor and practicum advisor Dan who yelled loudly, and to both Dan and Sara who came looking for me in the ballroom afterward when I wasn't there! Enjoy the few pictures from the day ... fyi, the 'unofficial' GW mascot is the hippo --- hence, why I'm sitting on one!

Congratulations Lauren!
Congratulations, Lauren! Great photos, too. Now you just have to finish med school and get the M.D. behind your name too!
