Twilight Surprise

I went for a run after class finished this evening and found myself down near the Washington Monument. You can imagine my absolute surprise and shriek when I heard cannons firing ... turns out I had stumbled upon the first summer rendition of the Twilight Tattoo! I stayed and watched the Army rifle drill team (quite impressive and a bit more dangerous than my old flag-and-rifle days!) for a few minutes before continuing on my loop around the Tidal Basin. I love DC summers --- (never mind the humidity and the two bugs I inhaled while running!) --- free concerts, the Fourth fireworks, Smithsonian events, you name it. Summer is coming, and I can't wait!
