I took a bit of a study break yesterday afternoon to scope out the National Cinco de Mayo festival (unfortunately, a quite rained-out event!) and a terrific art and flower festival up at the National Cathedral, where I bought perhaps the wildest pair of earrings I own to date. One of the ladies next to me asked me if I had young children --- so that should give you an idea as to their size! As well, I finally took my new camera out for a spin on the Mall. I've been rather nervous to use it because I have so much to learn, but I was pretty happy with some of my results.
