Most of this past week for me was taken up with the annual AMSA (American Medical Student Association) convention right here in Washington, D.C. ... we had over 1600 medical students register! It was fun to see my fellow leaders again, as well as my Region VIII chapter officers. We had a candlelight vigil in the snow at the Capitol, rallied on the Hill, and listened to Paul Farmer, Congressman John Lewis, and Sanjay Gupta, among many other speakers. It's always a boost to spend time with students who care about health systems reform, global health issues, restructuring medical education, and health policy. It has been a busy but fantastic year with the organization.
