While my mom was visiting this past week, we had a great time "joining" my friend Toby's parents' central Iowa high school UN trip as they rolled through D.C. before heading up to New York. We went to the play Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center, which has been running continuously since 1984, with the group, and I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone!!! The 'whodunit' beauty salon murder mystery fully involves the audience who gets to vote on the murderer at the end. They incorporate details related to school groups in attendance and crack jokes at the local D.C. scene. It's one of the best improv theatrical performances I have ever seen! We also joined them the following night for a dinner cruise on the Potomac River ... never knew dancing contests with high schoolers could ever be so fun!
