I have never seen a regatta before, and I had a few minutes to spare while running errands on Saturday, so I stopped by the George Washington University crew invitational on the Potomac River (just five minutes from where I live) to check out the scene. Little did I expect to run in to Iowans!!! None other than the Iowa women's crew team was taking part in the competition. I happened to show up during lunch time, and it was very cold and windy (It had SNOWED the night before!) ... so I stayed for their warm-up and ran home.
